Nearly 40 years ago, three independent wholesale food suppliers – Stanley Polekoff, Morton Waxler and Kenneth Sigman – came together to open a warehouse and start Foods Galore. The trio was soon joined by a fourth colleague, Howard Buzgon.
The plan was to become one of the top foodservice distributors in the Mid-Atlantic through exceptional customer service, impeccable quality, integrity, and good old-fashioned hard work – and that’s just what they did. Over the years, the company grew quickly, adding new product lines and services as other broadline foodservice distributors came and went.
As the business grew, Mort’s son Eric and Kenny’s son Alex joined the company. Like their fathers, they started in the warehouse and drove trucks before eventually moving into sales. Howard’s daughter April manages our marketing department and is involved in purchasing and sales.
Today, we’re still a family-owned, multi-generational food service wholesaler that has grown into the largest family-owned and operated broadline food distributor in the Mid-Atlantic. Our team of 100+ longtime employees works hard every day to give our customers the best possible experience.
